The Lockheed F-94 Starfire was the first operational jet-powered, all-weather interceptor aircraft by the United States Air Force. Lockheed developed the F-94 from the T-33 Shooting Star trainer aircraft. Because the F-61 Black Widow and North American F-82 Twin Mustang were already old and needed replacement, the radar-equipped jet-powered aircraft in 1948. In the end, the Starfire became the ideal aircraft to counter the threat of the USSRŐs Tupolev Tu-4 bombers.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
