The Mirage 2000 Dassault was a multirole combat fighter aircraft made by the French-based Dassault Aviation. It was used by the French Air Force since 1984 and chosen by the UAE, Qatar, Taiwan, India, Peru, Greece, and Egypt to be part of their respective air forces. By t 2009, there were more than six hundred Mirage 2000 in service all over the world. Its combat profile includes the 1991 Gulf War (against Saddam Hussein’s forces), the Bosnian/Kosovo war of the late 1990s, the 2001 American invasion of Afghanistan, and the rebellion in Libya that was under Al-Gaddafi. Primarily, the Mirage aircraft was called to act as protector of the skies that have been mandated by NATO as a ‘No-Fly Zone.’
