Mastercraft Collection: A6M2 Zero as Flown By Saboru Sakai..
Wingspan: 12 inches
Length: 9.1 inches
Considered a true symbol of Japanese bravery, the A6M2 Zero concealed a long-range and hard-hitting capability. It saw great success in 1940 against China, where it felled nearly 100 Chinese aircraft compared only to a loss of two zeros to friendly fire. It is most famous, however, for its contribution to the first six months of World War II. In fact, it was considered the best carrier-based fighter in the world at the time. The A6M2 Zero comes equipped with 7.7mm ammunition, 20mm cannon ammo, and a 250kg bomb. There are only 10 World War II zero fighter planes in display around the world today, with one fully authentic, fully operational aircraft displayed at the Air Museum of the Chino Airport located in Southern California.
