The P-51D Mustang was an iconic fighter aircraft flown during World War II and the Korean War. The war bird was flown by different groups, including the Tuskegee airmen, the first African-American pilots who fought during the Second World War. Although the Mustang was developed as a fighter-bomber aircraft, the war plane excelled at long-range escort missions. The P-51 earned the moniker “Red Tail Devils” owing to the aircraft’s red tail. ” Post WWII, the P51D Mustang was used by many other nations such as Australia, Canada, Bolivia, China, Costa Rica, France, Germany, New Zealand and many others.
