The F-4C Phantom II may not be the most aesthetically pleasing aircraft ever built, but this fighter-bomber interceptor plane had more than 5,000 units produced. Dubbed as “Double Ugly” because of its ungainly appearance, this F-4 variant nonetheless is a mean fighting machine with topnotch performance, a proof that good looks alone won’t help gain foothold in any war. This two-seater aircraft has set aviation world records, in addition to its battlefield successes. The F4-Cs, which were originally developed for the US Navy, flew to Southeast Asia for air-to-air combat missions against North Vietnamese aircraft. As an air-to-ground aircraft, this plane is able to carry more load than the B-17 Flying Fortress. Because of its exceptional performance in the battlefield, the US Navy assigned the F4-C Phantom to the front lines.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
