Atomic Bomb Little Boy
Wingspan: 2.5 inches
Length: 8.5 inches
Of all the bombs that existed during the Second World War, the “Little Boy” Atomic Bomb may well be the most famous. First used in warfare in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the “Little Boy” was the nuclear weapon that ended World War II. The amount of energy generated by an exploding “Little Boy” atomic bomb was the equivalent of a 15 kiloton TNT explosion—despite its relatively small size. The ultra-high air pressure that resulted in a very powerful blast consumed half of that energy; when the explosion generated heat, it consumed one third of the rest of the energy, while the remaining energy was consumed in the creation of radiation.
