Lockheed T-50 Multirole Trainer Model Scale:1/40
Wingspan: 9.3 inches
Length: 12.9 inches
The Cessna T-50 Bamboo Bomber was first produced in 1939 for the civilian market, as a lightweight and low cost twin for personal use. The T-50 is a low-wing cantilever monoplane and featured retractable main landing gear and wing trailing-edge flaps, both electrically actuated. The T-50 met a need as a training plane to help pilots convert from single to twin-engine aircraft. Fulfilling this need enabled Cessna to sell 550 aircraft to Canada and 33 T-50s to the U.S. Army Air Corps under the designation AT-8. The T-50 also met another need as light personnel transports and for liaison/communication. Over 1200 were ordered and delivered and served in all theaters of war, and they continued to serve in these various roles for several years after the war. Over two dozen Bobcats still roam the skies of the USA, Canada, and Australia/New Zealand.
