Mastercraft Collection: A-1H SKYRAIDER USN..
Wingspan: 12 inches
Length: 12 inches
Designed and built by Douglas Aircraft Company during World War II, the US Navy A-1H Skyraider was a carrier-based, long-range dive and torpedo bomber. Though produced too late for World War II action, the Douglas bomber aircraft became the backbone of the US Navy and Marine during the Korea and Vietnam conflicts. Nicknamed the Able Dog, the A-1H served as a workhorse for the US Navy. It flew low and slow and packed a powerful punch—8,000 lbs of bombs, torpedoes, rockets, and mines. A single-seat attack aircraft and could cruise at only 198 miles per hour. Despite the rather regular specifications, the Skyraider earned its place among its warbird counterparts with the sheer number of its successful missions.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
