When the United States Navy expressed their need for a plane that could bomb sea and air targets and could withstand any weather conditions, Grumman Aerospace responded with the A-6E Intruder. Possessing a twin jet engine and an intense attack system, this jet fighter could easily deliver a large amount of ordinance to a single target. Coupled with its ability to go over long distances without needing to refuel, this vessel could deliver bombs to unsuspecting targets during any point of the day and anywhere in the world. This aircraft served from 1963 to 1997 and can be seen in a number of aviation museums all around the United States.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
