Mastercraft Collection: B-29 SUPERFORTRESS ENOLA GAY..
Wingspan: 12.5 inches
Length: 8.75 inches
No other propeller-driven bomber during the World War II was considered sophisticated as the Boeing B-29 Superfortress, what with its polished aluminum overall finish and well-laid propellers. In fact, one of its pilots described it as “the most beautiful piece of machinery that any pilot ever flew”. The Superfortress bomber took great pride in being the very first bomber to have pressurized compartments for its crew. Though it was originally made for the European theater, the B-29 was widely used in the Pacific as the delivery vehicle for various aerial armaments, from nuclear weapons to incendiary bombs. Because of its significance in world history, the famous Enola Gay model of this aircraft was restored and is now displayed at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Washington Dulles International Airport.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
