The JG52 was Luftwaffe’s 52nd fighter wing during World War II and the most successful fighter wing of all time, recording a tally of around 10,000 victories with the iconic ME-109 Messerschmitt fighter aircraft. The main highlights of the ME-109 were its lightweight construction and placement of ammunition. The ammunition Messerschmitt BF 109 was place in the fuselage, thus keeping the wings very light for greater maneuverability. The BF 109 Messerschmitt was powered by a liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz DB 605 V12 engine, with a powerful 3-bladed light alloy propeller with 3-meter diameter. The Me-109 Messerschmitt carried an assortment of guns, rockets and bombs.
