Mastercraft Collection: F8F-1 Bearcat..
Wingspan: 12 inches

Using the lightest and smallest airframe possible at the time, the F8F-1 Bearcat is definitely a naval fighter aircraft built for speed. This Grumman aircraft is the last piston-engine, carrier-based fighter plane designed as an interceptor aircraft. It featured an all-bubble canopy, giving the pilot 360-degree visibility, and was 20% lighter than its predecessor, providing a 30% higher rate of climb. The F8F-1 Bearcat naval fighter aircraft equipped 24 fighter squadrons of the US Navy after the Second World War, and is considered by many to be one of the best handling piston-engine fighters ever built.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
