The F-86 Sabrejet was a distinguished transonic fighter aircraft of the Korean War. Many of these success during combat led to the production of about 7,800 units of the F-86 aircraft in many variants from 1949 to 1956 and were exported to many other countries. The F-86 was manufactured by North American Aviation for the United States Air Force in the late 1940’s and is considered to be one, if not the most important fighter plane of the Korean War. The US Air Force’s 335th Fighter Squadron or the “Chiefs” were given the F-86 Sabre and were famous as “MiG Killers” during that war and had a total of 12 ace pilots. The “Chiefs” were Korean War elite pilots who led all US Air Force Squadrons during that period of time.
