The F4U-5N Corsair was a military fighter aircraft built to become one of the best warplanes of World War II. Designed to be the best carrier-based fighter plane of that same period, this Corsair variant made its first flight in 1940. Equipped with a 2,000-horsepower Pratt-Whitney R-2800 engine, this night fighter aircraft was capable of flying up to 404 mph. It became one of the best land-based warplanes, and by 1944, it became the carrier-fighter plane of the Navy. Due to its amazing strength, speed, and firepower, the F4U-5N Corsair was used to attack enemy installations and truck convoys. With its sheer strength, this Corsair plane was used to dominate the Japanese, shooting down 2,140 enemy planes.
