Mastercraft Collection: F4 Phanthom II "Hells Angels"..
Wingspan: 7.4 inches
Length: 12 inches
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was considered the most successful combat jet fighter that has existed after the Second World War. The first Phantom II flew the skies on May 27, 1958 and immediately put other jet fighters to shame. Interestingly, this fighter plane earned the name “Double Ugly” because of its bulky and awkward-looking design. But what it lacked in appearance, it certainly more than compensated for its excellent performance. This aircraft has superb performance in terms of speed, highest point reached, and the time it took to reach high altitudes. The Navy took the aircraft to its service as a fleet defense fighter, but because of its versatility, the Phantom II was soon used for many other missions. The aircraft also served as a flight demonstration aircraft of the Hells Angels squadron.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
