Product Details

It was four months after the Pearl Harbor attack when the Americans were able to see a shed light of hope once more. On April 1942, sixteen B-25 Mitchell aircraft flew from the USS Hornet with a mission to show that Japan isnŐt as invincible as it claimed. Known as the Doolittle Raid, the event saw the B-25 aircraft attack Japanese land. Though the overall damage to the country was minimal, the Raid succeeded in doing one important thing - giving hope and raising the morale of the US. This huge role is something the engineers of North American may have not imagined. When they were creating the design of the plane from the XB-21 in the mid-1930s, they may not have thought that the North American B-25 would be this famous. But it is perhaps ignorant to say that the Mitchell B-25 bomber did not have it to serve such role.

This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
