Mastercraft Collection: B-24D Liberator Royal Air Force..
Wingspan: 12 inches
Length: 7.4 inches
The B-24 Liberator had seen its glory in the World War II. Made by the Consolidated Aircraft, the B-24 was likened to the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, but the former was more modern in terms of design, speed, range, and bomb load capacity. Because of its ruggedness, many aircrews loved flying the B-24 plane. The lightweight construction of the B-24 bomber afforded it better range, but this asset was also the airplane’s greatest weakness. This made the B24 airplane vulnerable to battle damage. It also had the reputation of catching fire but because of easy production, this was kept in service as a heavy bomber. Nevertheless, the Liberator aircraft was best known for its ability to stay on air for long periods.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
