Mastercraft Collection: C-119G Flying Boxcar..
Wingspan: 12 inches
Length: 9.5 inches
The C-119G Flying Boxcar is an aircraft that lives up to its name. With its outsized fuselage complemented by twin booms, this cargo plane was a derivative of another freighter, the C-82 Packet. The only difference between the two is that the Flying Boxcar was built with a longer nose. Its huge fuselage allows for hauling huge payloads, making the Flying Boxcar one of the most useful aircraft during the Korean War. The aircraft has powered doors that open in mid-flight to drop supplies and troops. Versatile and robust, this classic aircraft had served US Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) and Far East Air Forces (FEAF) as a combat cargo plane. The C-119G was touted as the definitive Flying Boxcar variant with 480 models delivered.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
