Mastercraft Collection: KC-135R Stratotanker..
Wingspan: 11.5 inches
Length: 12 inches
The KC135 Stratotanker was the first successor of the Dash 80. The jet airplane, designed predominantly for aerial refueling, had been the only aircraft tanker used by the Strategic Air Command for 15 years. Throughout its flying career, the Air Force KC-135 has been tasked to do other jobs that range from flying command post missions to reconnaissance. Over the couple of years to come, the aircraft will be undergoing several upgrades to stretch its capabilities and enhance its reliability. Aside from improving its communications features, it will also be enhancing its navigation and surveillance equipment to meet the future demands in civil air traffic control. The first ever built Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker retired in the early part of 2013 after being in the service for more than 50 years.
