Mastercraft Collection: KC-135E Stratotanker..
Wingspan: 11.5 inches
Length: 12 inches
Having started its operation in 1957, the KC-135 Stratotanker was designed originally to re-fuel aircraft while on flight. It had provided aerial refueling support to the Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Allied aircraft. Enhanced models, however, were used as flying command posts, electronic reconnaissance, pure transport, and photo mapping craft. The Air Force KC-135 made an important contribution to the Operation Desert StormÕs success in the Persian Gulf when it went flying on around-the-clock missions to keep the operability of allied warplanes.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
