Product Details

The F-4U Corsair was a great fighter aircraft that saw action during World War II and through the Korean War. Flown by the then well-known United States Marine Corps’ VMF-214 “Black Sheep” Squadron during the WWII, the F4U airplane is part of the colorful past of the Pacific Theater. Used as an attack aircraft, the F4U plan saw action in throughout the Pacific and the Southeast Asia specifically in Japan and the Philippines. The famous Battle of Okinawa is just one of its major accomplishments. Manufactured by Goodyear and Brewster, the F4U plane is single-seater airplane equipped with machine guns, rockets, and bombs. The Corsair aircraft flew on piston engines and by far holds the record of the longest production of fighter plane that runs on the same engine in the history of U.S. aviation. It's hard to realize that the World War II not only brought immeasurable grief and terror all over the world but also gave humanity its greatest heroes and innovation.

This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
