Mastercraft Collection: A-10 Thunderbolt II Warthog..
Wingspan: 12 in inches
Length: 11 inches
Better known for the moniker Warthog, the A-10 Thunderbolt is a fixed wing ground attack aircraft extensively used during the Gulf War. Introduced in 1977, this aircraft has a reputation for extreme robustness in the battlefield. The Hog, as it’s also known, can sustain heavy damage brought by enemy artillery. With its iconic snub nose and twin engines, the Thunderbolt inspired the coining of the term “go ugly early” in reference to the immediate deployment of the aircraft for heavy close air support. Slow yet reliable, the A-10 Thunderbolt is outfitted with a GAU-8 Avenger Gatling gun on the nose. The Gatling gun can penetrate even the most heavily armored ground targets, including tanks. Each armament fitted to this aircraft could create extreme damage, making the Thunderbolt one of the most efficient attack aircraft built.
